Outstanding Tasks

Critical Tasks
These are tasks that must be taken care of immediately to ensure the legal and safe operation of the boat, or to prevent immediate damage to the boat.
- replace windows (brehrig, mwall)
- replace hatches (mwall)
- re-seat and seal stanchions
- re-seal chain plates at deck (two on stbd side completed 10oct08)
High Priority Tasks
These are tasks that must be done as soon as possible to ensure the safe, legal operation of the boat or to prevent damage to the vessel.
Medium Priority Tasks
These are important tasks that should be taken care of as soon as possible to provide for efficient, enjoyable operation of the boat, but which do not pose an immediate safety risk or prevent operation of the boat.
- secure holding tank
- repair stove
- fix oven door (missing screw and bent panel)
- fix hoses and tank, assure no leaks
- Repair/upgrade traveller (mwall, ksovie)
- install new cam cleats inside of dodger (winter 2008)
- finish freshwater system
- fix leaks at faucets
- fix leaks at hot water tank
- install new hoses from engine to hot water tank (assure proper threads)
- Adjust throttle friction so it doesn't slow engine down after we set it to an RPM (tspettel)

- cut new foam for cushions
- make new cushion covers
- Change transmission fluid (ThomS)
- clean and lube winches
- NOTE: there are at least 2 booklets with instructions in ship's reference booklets (accordion folder)
- spec and order new speedometer (Ted)
- replacement ordered from ebay for $0.99. Seems to work.
- Woodworking (dca)
- Supplement sides of starboard lazarette to prevent items from falling under engine
- Fit & install wood around mast step
- procure/install proper anti-siphon valve on engine seawater out
- install capture wires on anchor retention pin(s)
Low Priority Tasks
These are tasks that would be nice to have done, but which have a lesser immediacy associated with them.
- replace batteries
- replace battery wiring
- install battery charger
- add alternator protector device (in case all batteries OFF with engine running)
- add zippers or windows to bimini so you can see the sails, then install bimini
- repair or replace dodger
- diagnose and document electrical system (tspettel & tyoung)

- on-hold 110v charging system task description/discussion

- create the "How To" documents for the boat
- diagnose and test autonav (ted)
- determine why it seized before reconnecting it to the rudder.
- install LED lighting (rcleary has some details of replacement parts)
- sand and refinish topside brightwork (mwall has the cetol for this and the removable brightwork)
- replace manual bilge pump (handle socket is fractured)
- build slots for holding washboards
- add a second winch handle pocket somewhere in the cockpit.
- add a home for a winch handle near the mast
Cleaning Tasks (ongoing)
- bilge
- the bilge needs to be scrubbed with brushes and flushed numerous times
- clean bilge well - small particles accumulate then plug up the pump strainer
- kitchen
- clean/tune stove and oven
- main cabin
- scrub all wood surfaces with murphy's wood soap (diluted)
- scrub ceiling of main cabin
- scrub ceiling of main cabin berths
- starboard lazarette
- remove everything from lazarette then scrub it (use brushes), then put everything back when the lazarette has dried out
- aft lazarette
- remove everything from lazarette (including wood panels), then scrub the hull and wood panels
- head
- scrub all surfaces in the head
- remove everything from cupboards and scrub them out
- drain holding tank then flush it a few times
- scrub the hull under the sink
- clean drain pan and grid
Winter 2008-2009 Tasks
- replace prop shaft and coupling
- replace cutlass bearing
- repair/replace cabin floor

- 28aug08 Adjust stuffing box after running the engine awhile, assess drippage and tighten accordingly. Stuffing box is barely dripping, but it is wet. so apparently we are getting lubrication. need to continue to monitor it to assure that locking nut is secure (do not want the assembly to walk off the end of the threads).
