Tasks That Must Be Done First

  • Acquire a ladder/chain/lock and lock ladder to boat stands - DONE 04Nov - Brian R, ThomS
  • Move mast from aboard to on ground (Frannie to request boatyard)

Tasks That Must Be Done Soon (Before It Freezes)

  • Change Engine Oil and Filter (sporter(?) says he will do this after the haulout)
  • Change Transmission Fluid
  • Fog Cylinders
  • Drain Freshwater tanks
  • Drain and flush old antifreeze from cooling system and add fresh antifreeze
  • Add non-toxic antifreeze to freshwater system.
  • Add non-toxic antifreeze to head/holding tank [discuss ]
  • Drain salt-water from cooling system.
  • Add antifreeze to salt-water system/exhaust pot (bio-friendly)
  • Add antifreeze/rocksalt to bilge (or get the last few inches of water out) [discuss ]
  • Top up batteries' charges [discuss ]

Other Tasks That Should Be Done Soon

  • Bring (borrow/buy):
    • converter (lightbulb base to AC-plug, 2-to-3 prong adapter) to use light as extension cord
    • electrical extension cord (c.300-foot) - DONE 04Nov - ThomS - UNDONE! will fix 08Nov
    • water hose (c.150-foot)
  • Bring up (from Conn.) and Install winter cover and its frame
  • Lock up bow anchor - DONE 04Nov - ThomS
  • Remove battens and dutchman rig from mainsail & furl neatly
  • Get mainsail washed and perform any necessary maintenance (remove dutchman gear)
  • Furl Genoa neatly, find a sailbag, get it washed [discuss ]
