Walking Directions from MBTA
Rowes Wharf is about a quarter mile south of the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line and about half a mile NE of the South Station stop on the Red Line. From Aquarium, walk south along Atlantic Ave until you get to the giant archway by the Boston Harbor Hotel. From South Station, walk NE along Atlantic Ave until you reach the giant arch.
Once you get to the arch on Atlantic Ave., walk through it, and then make a quick left turn before you get to the water. You'll see a door that says "Marina Office" on your left. The gate for the docks is directly opposite the Marina Office door. Go through the gate, down the ramp, and follow the docks around to the left.
You can hail the Boston Harbor Sailing Club Launch by blowing on an air horn (there is usually one in the toolchest there on the docks), by calling on Marine VHF channel 10, or sometimes by calling 617-720-0049.
Parking Near Rowes Wharf
Weekends: There is some on street parking weeknights and weekends in the financial district (High St/India St/Broad St area) but you must feed the meters and obey the time limits on the meters (except Sunday). Some commercials spaces can be used on Saturday, some cannot. Be careful. Sundays are free-for-alls and may be harder to find an on street space but if you find one it's likely to be free all day.
There is a garage almost directly across from the Boston Harbor Hotel (about a half-block south) that has all-day parking for $7 on weekends and holidays. It costs much more on weekdays.
Weekdays: There is $10 and $15 all day parking available 7 days per week in the Fort Point Channel Area all along Northern Ave (across the Moakley Bridge via Seaport Ave) near the new Federal Court House and the ICA. You can walk back to Rowes Wharf by crossing the wooden foot bridge. At the very end of the bridge you can turn right through a gate and walk along the water's edge to Rowes Wharf. Walking time 10-15 minutes. If the bridge is closed temporarily, you can walk across Seaport Ave one block South over the Moakley Bridge. Some of these lots charge extra if you stay overnight so check ahead for weekend trips.
