Spring 2008 Tasks
before mast re-step
- replace mast light (ted)
- fix or replace the tricolor/anchor/strobe light fixture (ted)
- diagnose and reinstall RADAR antenna & wiring (ted)
- fix and reinstall windex (ted)
- diagnose/fix and reinstall wind instruments (ted)
- test VHF antenna and run new coax cable through the mast (ted)
- inspect top-of-mast furler, stays, swages, etc (ted, mwall)
- as of 10may08, there is rusty patina on some stays, but no cracks or broken strands
before re-float
- renew coast guard documentation (ted, fcharles)
- put the Certificate of Documentation aboard (ted)
- replace head thru-hull fittings (mwall)
- head output thruhull leaks inside the hull
- head input thruhull has de-laminated, neet to re-epoxy
- new depth sounder thruhull (ted)
- engine tune-up
- replace engine raw water inlet elbow with straight barb (ThomS)

Cleaning Tasks
- clean kitchen again/more (samajane)

- clean/tune stove and oven (tyoung)
- main cabin
- scrub all wood surfaces with murphy's wood soap (diluted)
- scrub ceiling of main cabin
- starboard lazarette
- remove everything from lazarette then scrub it (use brushes), then put everything back when the lazarette has dried out
- aft lazarette
- remove everything from lazaretted (including wood panels) then scrub the hull and wood panels
- head
- remove everything from cupboards and scrub them out
- scrub all surfaces in the head
- holding tank needs to be drained then flushed a few times
- scrub the hull under the sink. beware of the outbound thru-hull fitting - it leaks already and we do not want to sink the boat by knocking it off or exacerbating the leak.
Unclaimed Tasks
- clean and lube winches
- outfit dinghy (boat, boards, motor)
- replace faulty head seals (NOTE: head tune-up kits are aboard)
- replace all head hoses
- install LED lighting (rcleary has some details of replacement parts)
- de-scale mast (in cabin)
- tighten lifelines
- sand and refinish topside brightwork (mwall has the cetol for this and the removable brightwork)
- secure nav light wiring in anchor compartment
- spec and order new speedometer
- wiring needs to be tidied up, specifically raised to be further from water levels
- bonding system of boat needs inspection/repair/upgrade
- diagnose, tune, and document radar/chartplotter system
- replace manual bilge pump (handle socket is fractured)
- install capture wires on anchor retention pin(s)
- fix blower and move its hose to bilge
- build shelves for storage under v-berth
- build slots for holding washboards
- supplement sides of starboard lazarette to prevent items from falling under engine
- add zippers or windows to bimini so you can see the sails.
