This is a list of things to do to make the boat ready for the sailing season.

General Pre-Launch Tasks

  • Set a launch date with Dions
  • Confirm waterboat marina slip
  • Return all equipment to the boat from the pavilion
  • Scrape dinghy bottom of all barnacles and repaint with new antifouling
  • Renew dinghy registration (ask the Dockmaster)
  • Renew Mashnee mooring permit (ask the Dockmaster)
  • Review toolbag for completeness and function (e.g. wire brush off any rust)

Safety

  • Inspect fire extinguishers (date)
  • Inspect safety equipment (flares for expiration date)
  • Ensure tethers are all in good working order
  • Test MOB1 devices
  • Inspect PFDs (inflation check, dates on inflator cartridges)
  • Inventory medical kit and check all expiration dates -- refresh as needed
